Home

Living Way Ministries is a faith based organisation that evolved from our ethos and desire to help individuals and families who may need our services.  Since its inception, we have worked hard to provide support where it's most needed.

Our team relies exclusively on volunteers' help.  Every little bit of help is proving invaluable and very well received and appreciated by the people in our community. Any skill can be used by us, so we're always happy to welcome new volunteers who would like to dedicate some of their time to charity.  We will appreciate any help that you could render, please do not hesitate to contact us, new members are always welcome.

We collaborate with other voluntary, private and secular organizations for effectiveness and good practice.

Parenting Programme

Living Way Ministries in collaboration with Barnet Community Parents Consortium, have successfully been awarded a service tender to facilitate Strengthening Families Strengthening Communities Parents' Programme. So far, two sets – a total of 25 happy parents have graduated and over 40 children participated in the Children and Young people's activities between June and December 2011. Councilor Agnes Slocombe graced our Parents' graduation celebration in December 2011, encouraging us all to keep up the good work which will surely be rewarded now and in posterity.

One of the outcomes of the programme is a request by parents to learn transferrable skills in cookery and sewing courses so that they can be self sustaining and confidently able to provide for themselves and their dependants.

A host of Grahame Park Community interest stakeholders collaborated in the successful outcome of the BIG Lotteries' Reaching Communities proposal outline application. We are all diligently working towards the main application to improve livelihood in our community by tackling economic inactivity, poverty and consequential morbidity and low life expectancy. Our collaborative work with statutory, voluntary and private organizations will eventually be paid with vibrant socially enterprising resource to our community.

Parents' testimonies about the SFSC's Parenting Programme.
'I now have special times with each of my children. Having just realized that each of them are different and one size doesn't really fit all, I am able to relate with each of them as a unique individual' Evelyn

'During the parents programme sessions, I learned new skills for positive discipline that helped me to refrain from smacking my children. Is great that there are positive alternatives, and my anger is now tamed. Relationships in the family have greatly improved. Thanks to Hope, Heike and Faith' Victor

'My first son noticed the changes in me, he goes, "This course you are doing in The Dining Place is good for you, mum."' Zakiat.
